Radio/Podcast - On The Airwaves

Reviewing the newspapers began with Simon Lederman on BBC Radio London back in 2015. Simon left and Fayon returned on the Jason Rosam overnight show in 2017. At the start of 2019 Fayon was called by Jason to give her thoughts on an article about positive mindset, it was the perfect introduction to the Vanessa Feltz show and Fayon continues to be asked back to give her take on the news-stories of the day. Fayon has also become a regular commentator with a host of presenters at Talk Radio, a panel guest on their online TV show and a co-presenter with Penny Smith.

Wandsworth Radio launched in 2015 and Fayon pitched her idea for a fun and empowering platform for local kids to be a part of. They are the guests, the jingle creators, presenters, reporters and get to drive the LIVE desk! Originally aired on Monday afternoons, The Kids Are Alright Show was also tried on Thursdays and Fridays until in 2017 finding the sweet spot on Saturday between 12-1pm, which allowed more kids to get down to the studios!

As a committed volunteer Fayon has hooked into local schools and clubs and has an army of parents who support the show and keep the supply of kids coming! From quizzes to disco’s, games and their perfect pets, the tiny studio is literally jumping and often jampacked with 4 kids to a mic, so they all get a chance to express themselves.

Fayon likes to keep the show local but makes an exception for Milkshake’s Jen Pringle and the stars of The Gruffalo! In April 2019 the station relaunched to Riverside Radio and Fayon remains their go-to presenter for whipping up audience participation and engaging any children to take part in the festivities as on-stage presenter and roving reporter. As the jingle says: It’s an award-winning radio show, bagging Best Community Content and Presenter 2018 and Best Specialist Show and Best Presenter 2019.

Events - The World is a Stage

Fayon’s first events gig was in 2005, downstairs in the legendary Rock Garden, Covent Garden. A friend was starting Platform, a Sunday showcase for unsigned bands and artists. Again, with no experience Fayon was asked to take to the stage and for nearly 3 years hosted this and Battle of the Bands, even giving an unknown band called The Kooks their chance to play on the iconic stage before launching their first single the following week.

Fayon has gone on to develop the versatility to host both to an audience of 6,000 at The Royal Albert Hall and to 150,000 online viewers as the energetic host of Tomorrow’s Engineers Week- 30 minute Big Assembly. Fayon is the energy behind Engineering UK’s speed networking event Meet The Future You, and at The Big Bang Fair each March helps students learn how networking skills can boost their confidence and make the difference to a great career in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering Mathematics).

A host and presenter for charity, away days, awards and showcases. Fayon loves the unpredictability of a LIVE audience and relishes the confidence with which she can hold their attention.

TV - On The Telly

After a chance meeting with QVC’s guest presenter booker at a wedding in Barbados, Fayon returned to the UK to two different opportunities to work in shopping TV, as an old boss had also put her name forward for the soon to be launched JML shopping channel EeZee.

With all the presenting slots taken and with no actual TV presenting experience, Fayon talked her way into a job in 2005 and has gone on to present for QVC, iBuy and Ideal World. Fayon’s energic style, warmth and good humour were a great mix and earnt her a Best Presenter Viewers Award.

Motivation - Working with Young People

Delivering workshops was never the first priority for Fayon. However, after the recession of 2008 put a stop to all her creative projects, Fayon turned her hand to delivering motivational workshops in schools with the larger than life Action Jackson at Fix Up Seminars. She describes the first few as terrifying and thought stand up would have be much easier; ‘Tough crowd’ was an understatement!

Fayon stuck with it and saw it as an opportunity for her own growth. She now delivers dynamic, interactive workshops, which give students the opportunity to explore their potential. Fayon uses her strong playful personality to connect with young people, offering up her own experiences of breaking through obstacles when needed to empower both girls and boys to be themselves.

Creating Value - Community

Fayon will tell you herself, she is no actress. However, after finding out from an actor friend who read for the charity InterAct Stroke Support in hospital across the UK Fayon wanted to be a part of it. Her mother’s two best friends had passed away because of strokes and Fayon with her love of talking and meeting new people saw this as a way to make a positive contribution. An appointment was made to see the founder of the charity who only take on professional actors and after 15 minutes of gushing enthusiasm Fayon was given a 3-month trail. For 17 years Fayon has been a committed reader and for 2 years their part-time community liaison officer working with professional actors to deliver creative workshops to stroke survivors.
